IDEP’s GreenHand Field School Program’s Scope

IDEP’s GreenHand Field School (GFS) Program has had a wide-reaching impact in Aceh.

The GFS program has trained Acehnese as local experts for Community Based Sustainable Recovery and these dedicated local facilitators are assisting devastated communities from throughout the region to recover from the Tsunami in a sustainable way.

By the end of 2006

53 people have graduated as GFS Trainers

16 of these people are now actively conducting GFS trainings in the area
A total of 811 have participated in GFS trainings, 238 of these were trained on site at GFS and the remaining 520 in their local communities
