IDEP Aceh Location & Activity Map

 Emergency Aid to Aceh by Land
Body removal, sanitation facilities & delivery of aid to several of the most hard hit areas of Aceh. Partners for this program : Walhi Riau, Give a Hand 4 Aceh, SOS/OIC, WALHI N. Sumartra, JALA.
 Emergency Aid to Aceh by Boat
Direct delivery of emergency aid to isolated communities on west coast. Partners for this program : Sam Schultz, Sumatran Surffaris, Sumatran Surfzone Relief Operations
 SAMATIGA Health & Aid Program
Basic health and midwifery clinic / counselling centre, serving about 50-70 patients a day. Liaising international agencies with local communities and NGOs for relief supplies. Partners for this program : Walhi Bali, WALHI Sumu, Bumi Sehat, Rama Surya
 Disaster Management Training
Emergency response publications for Aceh, including a booklet about sanitation, nutrition and trauma self help, breast feeding / birthing booklet, and health fact sheet. IDEP’s Community Based Disaster Management manual was widely distributed.
 Communication & Networking
Communication tools (sat phones, mobile phone cards etc) and an SSB radio network system for more effi cient and equitable distribution of emergency aid & recovery tools. Partners for this program : CRI, Yayasan Leuser Lestari YLL, WALHI N Sumatra
 LHOONG - GreenHand Field School
One of IDEP’s key recovery programs: ‘The GreenHand Field School provides training in sustainable livelihoods. Partners for this program : Green Camp
 ENDLESS SUN - Aid by Boat
A 700 tonne cargo vessel for aid delivery to communities on the west coast of Aceh and devastated western islands. Unfortunately this vessel sank in April 2005. Partners for this program : AsiaWorks, Yayasan Andaru Selaras.
 SAMATIGA Programs
Construction of the health clinic and community centre in Samatiga. Liaising international agencies with local communities for recovery programs. Partners for this program : WALHI Bali, WALHI N Sumatra, JALA
 Emergency Response - March 2005
Emergency response to 8.7 earthquake which devastated the islands to the west of Sumatra. Liaising international agencies with refugees and local NGOs for emergency aid distribution. Repair of damaged SSB communication system. Partners for this program : Yayasan Leuser Lestari, LPAM, LeapIn.org
