| About Bali Jani Foundation |

| Bali Jani Foundation is a grassroots Balinese Women’s Advocacy Organization, located in Gianyar, Bali. The foundation’s programs include legal aid support for victims of domestic violence, micro credit support for small-scale enterprises and public awareness development of related issues via mass media and community workshops.
Yayasan IDEP Foundation works in cooperation with Bali Jani Foundation to continue to develop community based waste management programs and cooperatives.

| Social Transformation – Bali Jani Foundation is motivating and supporting Balinese women so that they can be influential in their extraordinary role concerning life and society. Reviewing the current situation this transformation will happen systematically over time, and with this change Balinese women will have more advantages in Balinese society on all levels.
Pluralism – Bali Jani Foundation offers supports to all women in Bali from various backgrounds, including different casts, different capacity levels, and different professions.
Independent Determination and Strength – Bali Jani Foundation is strengthening and supporting Balinese women’s efforts so that they can realize their ability towards much prospective that is available to them.
Feminism – Bali Jani Foundation understands that Balinese women must recognize their unity and their individual rights in all areas, including social, political and economical.
Equality – Bali Jani Foundation works toward creating a better world social order that respects the value of human effort; with change this could someday be standard in Balinese society and culture.

| 1. To identify the normal beliefs or practices relating to women on such topics as religion (Hindu), ethics, cultural practice and law (including the Balinese village law).
2. To identify civil court cases, criminal punishment and standard government laws, that relate to women
3. To document (in different ways) and to publish this research that has been done, as well as other knowledge, as long as it supports women.
4. To increase the understanding of Balinese Hindus about gender in relation to level and status in society.
5. To protect and acknowledge the rights of Balinese women.
