| MACK Foundation’s Eco friendly ethical industry projects |
| Located high in the mountains near Pupuan, MACK’s grassroots production projects are one of the district’s largest employers. The various small industries they have developed are all based on principles of environmentally and ethically sound business practices.
Participants of Yayasan IDEP Foundation’s Sustainable Development / Permaculture courses have studied these industries as sound examples of projects on the ground that make a long-term difference.

| Bali Asli Soap, Jam & Sauces Factories - The first product was a range of jams, preserves, pickles and sauces that have been produced here since 1986 and are now found on many local supermarket shelves. Then five years ago the Yayasan began to research and produce soaps made from pure, natural ingredients. Today, racks of fragrant drying soap surround a small workshop. Inside, laughing women meticulously hand-wrap and label every bar. |
| Temuku Bakery - This became the first bakery in Bali to use home-ground wheat and to bake without additives. The staff now produces many different breads, cakes, pies and cookies, including a wonderful mulberry pie featuring organically grown fruit from the bakery’s own plantation. |
| PT Intaran Neem Products Factory – Yayasan MACK also runs a Neem oil extraction center and an organic farm. | SDN 1 Batungsel Environmental Education Community Project |
With the support of the Pupuan Department of Education, Yayasan MACK has been developing a network of primary school pilot projects for innovative environmental education in the Pupuan area.
Activities at the key pilot, in Batungsel, include after school extra curricular activities, such as dance, English lessons and social skills and access for local students to an exciting children's library.
The success of the initial pilot in Batungsel pilot school has inspired the development of what is now a very active network of 12 schools in the area. These schools are working together to share programs and support each other. Under the guidance, and with the support of Yayasan MACK they cooperate to run teacher training, waste management and other community development programs. |

| How you can help: |
Yayasan MACK's Batungsel Environmental & Community Development Education programs are located in a poor and remote area of Bali. Access to resources needed to keep the project going and developing are often hard to come by. To date all of Yayasan MACK's support personnel have been working on a voluntary basis, and as the responsibilities for the program are expanding, they are in need of some support to continue their good work.
Aside fom this, their are several students in the area who are not able to attend regular schools due to lack of resources for paying school fees who are seeking support at this time. |
