GreenHand Field School > Lamsujen area - Location of the GreenHand Training Center in Aceh

The quiet village of Lamsujen in the district of Lhoong, Aceh Besar, is home to IDEP's GreenHand Field School . A fertile valley with a lively river running through it, Lamsujen is an ideal location for the training centre. About 50 km south of Bandah Aceh through the tsunami zone, it has road access and a permanent water supply.

Steve Cran, an Australian Permaculture specialist, traveled to Aceh early in May with IDEP staffer Chakra and two Green Camp members to find land for the project. A week into the search, they located the land for the GFS and began to strategize the three-year project.
