The GreenHand project was launched on a shoestring budget. Purchasing an elderly truck in Medan , the GreenHand team had to deal with constant breakdowns due to the contstant challenge of navigating the incredibly rough roads through the tsunami zone.

The old truck has been steel reinforced so that it can be used as a truck to transport project tools and materials, as well as being is the main mode of transport for the team. The GreenHand team usually goes to Banda Aceh once a week for supplies and to send and receive email.
