The GHFS project leased two hectare of fertile land near the house. Using a cash-for-work program, the new land was fenced and cleared by local villagers.

A local imam blessed the land with a prayer, then members of the community shared a picnic with the team.

The land is being developed into comprehensive model farm demonstrating a range of agricultural, animal husbandry and agro-forestry techniques.
